What's New in ICAP/4 Version 8.x.10

Rubberbanding: This new feature allows you to move a set of components without breaking associated wiring connections. The ALT key acts as a toggle ON/OFF switch to enable and disable this function.

One-Click Parameters Access: Now you can access Standard, Monte, Optimize, Sweep, Parameters, and Tolerance in one easy button click on the main Simulation Control Dialog box.

Dynamic HELP for IntuScope5: HELP now includes updated Movie Tutorials, and web access to the latest documentation.

Smith Charts: As a Test Designer, ICAP/4 Professional, or RF user, you can now plot Smith Charts by reading in a Touchstone formatted file. With data from the twoport.DWG test circuit. Smith Charts may be used to calculate impedance determination, impedance matching, noise figure optimization, or stability.

New ICL Scripts: Many more ICL scripts and functions were added. These include Expandx, expandy, expandxAllPlots to let you easily modify your waveform viewing area. Also Family script to create eye diagrams, and Superfamily script to combine multiple vectors into a single vector in circles to reduce presentation clutter. Drawing scripts allow you to easily format waveforms. New scripts compare Fast Fourier transform data against IEC 61000 Electromagnetic Interference Specifications (Limits for Harmonic Current Emissions) for Class A, B, C, and D equipment.

Filter Library Updated: Over 1500 Laplace transfer functions for Butterworth, Chebyshev, Bessel and Elliptic filters were added to this ICAP/4 version. Each filter offers 4 types: Low Pass, High Pass, Band Pass and Band Stop.

Better IEEE Standard Conformance: Units displayed in IntuScope5 were modified to better conform with IEEE standards.

Easily Produce Presentation Graphs: Modify x and y-axis legends in IntuScope5 to quickly tailor graphs to your publication requirements.

Create Title Blocks in a Snap: Quickly place a title block on your SpiceNet schematic with the new Borders and Title Blocks dialog. Just double-click to edit. Several pre-formatted title blocks -- or build your own.

Open Drawing Files from Anywhere: When you click on a .DWG file, from an .html file or any other source, it will open up in the SpiceNet schematic browser.

Easy Access to Symbol Editor: Open the Symbol editor and revise a symbol in a snap with a new right mouse button feature.

Push into Subdrawing: This new right mouse button feature lets you quickly bring up the schematic a subdrawing part is linked to.

Repeat Feature added to PWL Function Generator: The code model Pulse Width Linear .dll has been replaced with one which is up to 500 times faster for use with very large, repeating PWL files. More than 6 digits to the right of the decimal point can now be read.

Fuse Models Enhanced: The 48 models in the fuse library have been updated to run more accurately. One new fuse model has been added.

Compare Live Data to Simulation Data Easily: Read in a text file of data points, for example, from a tester or other device, to plot in IntuScope5.

BSIM4 Model Updated: A new 4.1.2 version of BSIM4 has been incorporated in the ICAP/4Windows software family. Improvements include general clean-up of the code for more efficient operation. Also, Gate Induced Source Leakage (GISL) was added to provide a significant improvement in simulation convergence. Together with GIDL, it makes the gate induced leakage component of the substrate current symmetric.

New Templates for Power Supply Designers: SWITCHMODE power supply templates and models for ON Semiconductor and Future Electronics were added to ICAP/4Window’s power libraries. The templates are complete working solutions were only a few parameters need to be modified to use them within your drawing.

Check out the significant new analysis features ICAP has to offer. Use simulation templates to customize a SPICE-based netlist to enhance circuit analysis!

Monte Carlo: Enables designers to perform statistical analyses early on, including generating histogram and probability plots and reports for measurements.

Optimization: Measures the objective function for a set of parameter values, and then finds the parameter value that minimizes the objective function. Simulation templates enable users to automate the selection of values to achieve the best result.

Sweep: Sweep analysis lets designers change two parameter values simultaneously and sweep those values, graphically depicting the results.

What's New in ICAP/4 Version 8.x.8

Check out the new features ICAP has to offer!

New Library Manager Makes Model Archiving and Comparisons Easy: Archive ICAP/4 model libraries, compare new models with stored ones, search the model library for duplicate parts, define models symbolically rather than with a netlist, and create help and test drawings for models. (Note: Library Manager is available to users of Test Designer, ICAP/4 Professional, Power Supply Designer and Magnetics Designer. )

Compare Past and Present: Library Manager brings up a list of all the models in a library and compares them to the archived models. You can see the netlist and the difference between the current model and an archived model.

Build Your Own Help: Document the meaning of parameters and explain the usage of each model with a user-defined Help Facility. The .rtf-based file is linked to the netlist. No extra software is needed to create Help files!

Import Spice Models in a Snap: Add Spice models to the part library with the "Copy from Clipboard" or "Copy from Text File" commands. The correct symbol and netlist syntax to link to the part browser is created automatically.

New Waveform Analyzer: With a completely redesigned IntuScope5, you get improved waveform selection, manipulation, scaling, viewing and math operation capabilities.

Powerful New Scripts: Save time with measurement and functional scripts which eliminate repetitive tasks. Create and edit your own scripts, while maintaining complete control over script menu names and locations.

SpiceNet Now Windows-Based: The new SpiceMod data sheet modeling program makes it easy to produce accurate SPICE models for thousands of semiconductors without the need to learn the intricacies of SPICE model parameters.

New EKV Model Added: This scalable and compact MOSFET model is dedicated to the design and simulation of low-voltage, low-current analog, and mixed analog-digital circuits using submicron CMOS technologies.

Save the Way You Want To: Now you can save the drawing file to the version it was created with or the current version you are running!
